If you're interested in attending any of these courses, please contact the Branch Office before submitting your application form.
Links within each section go to Word documents. --------------- Negotiating & Representation Skills This is a two day course and is for workplace representatives who will represent members and who are involved in negotiations, or who are likely to become involved in negotiations, with management on pay and conditions. It is ideal for all workplace representatives. It is organised in an active way that gives us all an opportunity to have a say as well as listen to others. Locations/dates: Carmarthen - 21st & 22nd July closing date for applications: 30th June 2010 If you're interested in attending any of these courses, please contact the Branch Office before submitting your application form. ------------------------------- Employment Relations Act (ERA) Re-accreditation Training This new two day course is aimed at UNISON workplace representatives who have completed a first stage course, either the UNISON Organising Steward and the 3 day Handling Grievances and Disciplinaries course or the equivalent, including the TUC 10 day course. It is relevant to reps who have previously attended UNISON's One Step Ahead training, and also to branch officers and is designed to meet the requirements of the Employment Relations Act (ERA) reaccreditation. Swansea 28th - 29th July - closing date for applications: 16th June 2010 If you're interested in attending any of these courses, please contact the Branch Office before submitting your application form. --------------------- Introduction to Health & Safety This course is designed mainly for newly elected and less experienced health and safety reps organising at local level. It is also suitable for those stewards who act as Health & Safety Representatives and for anyone else wanting to find out more about the union role in health & safety. Locations/dates: Colwyn Bay - 21st - 23rd July closing date for applications: 30th June 2010 If you're interested in attending any of these courses, please contact the Branch Office before submitting your application form. --------------------- Introduction To: Employment Law / Contracts Of Employment / Work-Life Balance This course is designed mainly for less experienced UNISON Stewards, anyone who has not attended an employment law course previously, and those wishing to refresh their knowledge. Locations/dates: Colwyn Bay - 11-13th August If you're interested in attending any of these courses, please contact the Branch Office before submitting your application form. ----------------- Are you looking to learn something new? Why not try one of these Openings courses - free to all UNISON members - starting on 1st June, 1st September or 1st November 2010. There are no entry requirements and they assume no special knowledge and no experience of studying. They are run by the Open University and lead to recognised qualifications. Subjects are:
